New charging station sharing: Kravag revolutionizes the e-truck market!
In Cologne, a lot is happening in the area of electromobility, especially in heavy goods traffic. Together with Truck Charging, the logistician Kravag has developed an innovative app that enables freight forwarders to find and book charging stations for their electrical trucks efficiently. Today, on July 10, 2025, it became known that this app not only ensures better utilization of charging infrastructure, but also makes it significantly easier to bill the charging processes. By using the app, logisticians receive problem -free access to loading points and insurance cover during loading times, which significantly simplifies the company. Electrive reports that the first members of the app are the freight forwarders from Dresden and Schade Logistic from Wittenberg. While Hanitzsch already runs four charging points, Schade Logistic requires additional capacities to advance your ambitious plans to electrify the fleet.
But what are the goals behind this commitment? For Hanitzsch, the focus is on the optimization of the occupancy, while Schade Logistic put on electro truck early on and is now looking for ways to quickly expand the charging infrastructure. Four Mercedes-Benz Eactros 600 are currently in use at Schade Logistic, and the company plans to switch half of its 60 vehicles to electric drive within five years Transport-Online.
challenges and solutions to the charging infrastructure
The challenges when switching to electric drives should not be underestimated. A well -developed charging infrastructure plays a crucial role. It is important that the loading points are strategically placed along the main traffic axes in order to cover the need in long -distance transport. According to energy drivers, modern electric trucks are able to cover routes of up to 300 kilometers and more. Nevertheless, these vehicles need appropriate loading breaks, which must be coordinated with the legal rest periods of the drivers.
A special focus is on the Megawatt Charging System (MCS), which reduces loading times to about 45 minutes. This system could make it much easier to switch to electric trucks, especially in international freight transport, where fast loading times are of great importance. The MCS has the potential to significantly increase the efficiency of electromobility in heavy-wing traffic energy drivers.
outlook for the future
The plans of Schade Logistic and Hanitzsch are a nice step in the right direction. The focus on intelligent load management to avoid expensive load tips is a newly amazing vision that I like and is supported by many in the industry. Kravag and Truck Charging not only have to work together with the logistics, but also with authorities such as NOW GmbH and the Balm to create a legally secure model that ensures the fulfillment of EU specifications by 2030. A total of 2,800 charging locations with a total output of at least 7.5 GW along the TEN-V corridors in Europe must be built energy drivers.
The potential of electromobility in freight transport is immense. If the freight forwarders manage to strengthen the infrastructure and to change their fleets, this could not only lead to economic advantages, but also to significantly improve the environmental balance in the region and beyond.
