Wittenberg celebrates Luther's wedding: parade and big attractions!

On June 14, 2025, the Luther city of Wittenberg experienced a magnificent highlight of its city festival “Luther’s Wedding”. In brilliant weather, around 2,000 participants in historical costumes paraded through the picturesque old town and brought to life the wedding of Martin Luther and Katharina von Bora, which took place 500 years ago. This spectacular celebration combined a colorful parade with a variety of events and attracts thousands of visitors every year. The wedding couple's actors were Christian Tylsch, the district administrator of the Wittenberg district, and his wife Selina, who presented themselves as perfect ambassadors of the Reformation era.
