Leipzig gymnastics 2025: Sport, fun and traditions conquer the city!

On May 29, 2025, the highly expected gymnastics festival, which moves into the city in Leipzig, will take place in Leipzig. The event extends over the new trade fair, where various sporting competitions are held, while the city center is primarily shaped by fun and celebrations. Many guest teams are on the market in the morning and wear uniform sports clothing, which underlines the festive atmosphere.

The gymnasts of the “Karlsruhe Kings” took the opportunity to explore the city as part of the festival and to take part in different activities. From noon, non -stop shows of sports clubs from all over Germany take place on Augustusplatz, which present various disciplines such as jazz dance, acrobatics and cheerleading.

spectators have the opportunity to take part in hands-on stations, such as in basketball basket throwing and handball throwing, where small prices can be obtained. The traditional wind orchestras and music trains are also part of the event and appear in different parts of the city. The Spielmannszug TV Deutsche Eiche Hirschfeld from Brandenburg and the wind orchestra from TV Niederbruch delighted the audience with their performances.

A large move with 14 ensembles leads through the city center to Moritzbastei, and there is a “green corner” in the Thomaskirchhof, where passers -by can determine their ecological footprint. In the new town hall, gymnastics clubs are exhibited, many of them over a hundred years old. René Goldmann, who was responsible for the flags at the 1987 gymnastics festival, remembers the deeply rooted tradition of carrying flags. For the participants of the gymnastics festival, a free bowl of Goulash is also offered every day from 12 p.m. at the Bavarian train station inn, which further strengthens the community spirit of the festival.

Due to the high demand, registrations for the gymnastics festival have been received in large numbers. The purchase of a festival map was possible until March 3 via the gymnastics festival portal. The gymnastics documents were sent by post on May 5th and 6th. If someone has not received these documents by May 16, contact can be made at participation@turnfest.de. Lists for the participants are provided on site at the venues to make the planning smoothly. Competition cards for the Mix election competition and flag bands must also be picked up on site.
