Messer dispute at Bremen Central Station: Police intervene!

on Wednesday at 00:23 a.m. a tangible dispute between two men at the Bremen main station. The 26-year-old Egyptian grabbed a stick, while his 37-year-old Turkish opponent grabbed a bread knife from a nearby restaurant. With the dangerous weapons in hand, they threatened each other before the dispute was shifted to the train station.

The situation escalated when the man fled the stick into panic. However, a patrol from the Bremen police quickly arrested him. Criminal proceedings were initiated against him for resistance to enforcement officers, while the further investigations were given to the responsible security service of the Bremen police. Lüder Rippe, head of the Bremen Federal Police Inspection, emphasized the importance of the cooperation of all security forces in order to effectively counter such threatening situations.
