New timetable for bus line 650: Pentecost on the way from Whit Monday!
The district of Osterholz introduces a new timetable for the regional bus line 650 on Whit Monday, June 9, 2025. This change is the result of an agreement between the Zweckverband Verkehrsverbund Bremen/Lower Saxony (ZVBN), the district of Osterholz and the operating company of Rahden. The bus connects Neuenkirchen via Schwanewede to Osterholz-Scharmbeck and has been part of the new Osterholz clock for half a year, which runs hourly and on Sundays and public holidays every two hours.
A significant change in the timetable is the adaptation of the departure times for different stops. The first departure from the Neuenkirchen marketplace takes place at 5:07 a.m., five minutes earlier than before. The departure times at the Rathaus Schwanewede and Sachsenring stop were also brought forward to ensure improved punctuality. Arrival times are still at the full hour, especially at: 55 a.m. at Osterholz-Scharmbeck.
new departure times
- Neuenkirchen Marktplatz: Departure at: 07 (five minutes earlier)
- Rathaus Schwanewede: Departure around: 26 (previously: 29)
- Sachsenring business park A 27: Departure around: 36 (previously: 39)
- Pumpelberg Osterholz-Scharmbeck: Departure around: 45 (previously: 44)
- Arrival at Osterholz-Scharmbeck train station remains around: 55
For the return journeys, the bus always stays five minutes before the full hour to the west of the district. The arrival time in Neuenkirchen ultimately changes: 53, five minutes later than in the previous plan.
targeted adjustments
The changes to the timetable of line 650 are a targeted measure to increase punctuality, a concern that is emphasized by those responsible for the ZVBN, the district of Osterholz and the bus operator. "The goal is more punctual trips," said the official announcements. The system is intended to help passengers get more to their destination.
The new timetable and further information are available on the website of the Bremen/Lower Saxony Verkehrsverbund, vbn.de/linienbahrplaene , and in the VBN-app. Passengers can also plan individual connections there to achieve their desired goal.
With these changes, line 650 becomes even more attractive for the commuters in the district, which promotes local public transport more extensive.
