Double an arrest warrant: Federal Police hold criminals in Magdeburg

On Monday morning, May 26, 2025, the federal police arrested a 33-year-old man at Magdeburg Central Station, who wanted to avoid two arrest warrants. During a check, it turned out that the German was sought for violations of the weapons law and assault. Despite a prior conviction and a fine of 1,735 euros, he ignored the claims of the judiciary and did not want to face imprisonment.

The charges come from two cases: In the first case, he was fined by the Bautzen District Court in 2021, while in October 2023 he received a further punishment for assault. Since he could not pay the requested amounts, he was now taken to a correctional facility. The officials immediately informed the responsible bodies about the execution of the arrest warrants.
