FSV Budissa Bautzen: U17 is fighting for the ascent - is the turn?

The U17 juniors of FSV Budissa Bautzen are facing a crucial moment in their football career. On Saturday, June 21, at 11 a.m., the second leg against JFV New Zealenland is about promotion to the Landesliga, the highest division in young football in Saxony. The pressure is great, because the first leg ended with a 1: 4 defeat for the Bautzener, but the anticipation for the home game in the young center of Humboldthain is noticeable. The players are determined to use the support of the spectators to tear the helm around and crown their season with a successful end.

In the current season, the Budissa team showed a remarkable achievement by securing the championship title in the national class, which earned them the qualification for the relegation to the Landesliga. This chapter of success shows how important the club's youth work is. The FSV Budissa attaches great importance to the development of young talents and relies on its own youth work. The talented youth is professionally trained and promoted in the youth center Humboldthain, which has already led to a large number of young players who have risen to the first men's team. Twelve former young players are currently playing in the highest league in the club.

The importance of young talent work

But what does the path look like from the D-Junior to the C-Junior area? From the age of 13 and 14 years, players begin to play in large field teams. Not only the size of the field changes here, but also the number of players - each team consists of ten field players and a goalkeeper. Tactical understanding is also particularly important, as the teams have to learn to adapt to the tactic of the opponent. The introduction of the offside rule is also a challenge that needs to be mastered.

In training, the young footballers are prepared for the men's area. The large field teams enjoy the opportunity to play partly in the highest division of the Free State. The season varies depending on the age group: A-Juniors complete two halves of 45 minutes each, while B-Juniors play 40 minutes and C-Juniors 35 minutes per game. This clear structure makes it possible to promote the talents in a targeted manner.

talent promotion at DFB level

In addition, there are also numerous funding measures for young talents at a higher level. The DFB talent promotion program is the first systematic level of support for football talents in Germany. The aim is to give every talented player the chance to be discovered and promoted. With 339 bases across Germany and around 14,000 talented players in the best learning age, the program ensures weekly sighting and individual support from around 1,200 qualified base coaches.

The introduction of these bases forms an important connection between the club youth work and the performance centers of football. In particular, the age groups from U 12 to U 15 benefit from this additional training, which contributes to further developing the game -strong, technically experienced and creative players.

But now it is time for the U17 of the Budissa: Mobilize all forces to get promotion to the Landesliga. The next encounter promises tension and could mean the crucial step into a successful footballing future for the team.
