Series of accidents and speeding: Chaos in the Bautzen district!
On July 24, 2025, the police in the Bautzen region and beyond will remain under great demand. Several incidents caused a stir on Wednesday - from traffic accidents to criminal acts. One event is particularly noteworthy: a 43-year-old Pole was checked in the Rödertal car park. The officers discovered an arrest warrant against him, but he was able to pay a fine of 2,500 euros and continue his journey Sächsische.de reported.
Road safety remains a big issue. A total of 3,922 vehicles were checked on the A4 near Burkau on Wednesday morning. 412 drivers were noticed for speeding. 190 warnings and 222 fines were issued. A driver was even caught driving his BMW at a speed of 167 km/h, which earned him a fine of 600 euros, two points in Flensburg and a two-month driving ban. Things were also tight in Doberschütz: 412 vehicles were checked on the S 109, and 56 of them were too fast - which resulted in a further 30 warnings and 26 fines.
Accidents and their consequences
The frequency of accidents seems to be increasing. A serious rear-end collision occurred on Wednesday evening in Bautzen-Ost when a 63-year-old stopped his Audi to give way. A 37-year-old following behind was unable to brake in time and crashed into the rear of the Audi, causing material damage of around 8,000 euros. Further accidents, including in Baschütz and Rammenau, resulted in minor and more serious injuries.
In Rammenau, a 25-year-old was caught behind the wheel with a blood alcohol level of 1.40, while a 19-year-old e-scooter driver without insurance and on drugs was checked - here too, he was banned from continuing his journey and a blood sample was ordered.
Minor offenses and vandalism
But it wasn't just the traffic that was causing excitement. There was a theft in Bautzen in which a Mercedes Sprinter was stolen along with tools and building materials worth around 10,000 euros. The investigation is ongoing. The tire stabbing in Hoyerswerda, in which unknown persons damaged the tires of six vehicles and caused property damage worth at least 760 euros, is also causing discontent. And in the style of everyday nonsense, unknown people threw water bombs at parked cars - the police are investigating dangerous interference with road traffic.
These incidents clearly show that something is wrong in the region. It is recommended to be particularly careful and to inform the police if you see anything suspicious. In Germany, the emergency number 112 is to be used by the police, fire brigade and rescue services, an advice that is also given to citizens from Teltow-Fläming, where similar problems occur. There was recently an emergency call misuse that resulted in the evacuation of a school building, according to reports maz-online.de.
The police in Teltow-Fläming also remind citizens to remain calm in emergencies and to follow the instructions of emergency services. In the meantime, it remains to be seen how the local authorities will react to the current events.
