World cultures up close: 15th folklor festival in Lusatia awaits you!

Crostwitz, Deutschland - In the Lusatia, the mail goes off! From June 26th to 29th, the 15th International Folklore Festival Łužica - Łužyca - Lausitz will transform the region into a colorful backdrop of dance, music and culinary delights. Organized by Domowina - Bund Lausitzer Sorben and numerous partners, visitors can expect a three -day festival of cultures.

The opening of the festival will take place on June 26 at 6 p.m. with a solemn move through Bautzen, followed by a gala in the German-Sorbian Volkstheater. Almost twenty ensembles from Europe, Africa and South America are at the start. Among them the Saly Velingara Ballet from Senegal, which will provide a real eye -catcher with traditional West African dances and music.

cultural diversity and craftsmanship

The program includes not only dance performances, but also a market of traditional trades, where regional craftsmanship is presented. The festival is a member of CIOFF®, which means that all programs are culturally authentic and meet high organizational standards.

On Friday, June 27th, guests can look forward to an evening with international folklore in Drachhausen, supplemented by regional culinary specialties. On Saturday Crostwitz becomes a festival mile - the courtyards of the community offer insights into Sorbian and regional cuisine, while international groups provide entertainment from 4 p.m.

a festival for all senses

A highlight will be the cultural forum on June 28th, which begins in Bautzen at 10 a.m. Here is intensively discussed about the lively cultural heritage, one of the topics of the UNESCO, which includes oral traditions, performing arts and social rituals. The importance of the preservation of this heritage is illustrated by UNESCO itself with its 2003 Convention, which now belongs to 178 contracting states.

The last day of the festival on June 29 starts with a multilingual service and a large parade.
