Police protect bicycles: 26 vehicles coded at Heppenheimer Messe!

Last Wednesday,

officers from the Bergstrasse police department encoded a total of 26 bicycles as part of the bicycle fair in Heppenheim to make them unattractive for thieves. The campaign enables the wheel owners to mark their bicycles with an individual letter and number combination, which is engraved as part of the frame. This combination contains hidden information that facilitates the police and foundations to assign the wheel to its rightful owners.

With this measure, not only the chance is increased to bring stolen bicycles back, but also deter potential thieves. The coding represents a simple but effective protection that is very well received in the community.
