Chemnitz night skating: fun, safety and 16 kilometers of action!
When summer bathes the cities in warm light, it's time for special events. One such event, which is known far beyond the borders of Chemnitz, is the Chemnitz Night Skating, which will once again attract numerous enthusiastic participants. The second run of the night skating summer starts on July 23, 2025 at 7:50 p.m. at the Chemnitz Rosenhof. Starting at 7:00 p.m., participants can pump up their fitness during the warm-up and get ready for the 16.1 kilometer route that takes them to the Bergt Bräu brewery in Reichenbrand. RadioChemnitz reports that ...
The route itself may be considered flat, but it requires a certain level of fitness that participants should bring with them. On the way west along Limbacher Straße there is a stopover where drinks and music give the skaters a little boost. The way back leads via Zwickauer Straße, where participants are asked to adhere to the rules to ensure that things go smoothly.
Safety comes first
At such large events, safety is the be-all and end-all. The police will accompany the event and ensure order with flashing lights and a motorcycle squad. There will be a broom cart at the end of the field to pick up tired participants. Uta Ulbricht from “exclusiv events” has shown a good hand in organizing and takes care of everything that is necessary so that the skaters can pursue their passion without any worries.
But be careful: strollers, dogs, skateboards, bicycles or walking sticks are not allowed. In addition, the instructions of the stewards and the police must be followed. Participants who do not adhere to the rules must expect to be excluded. If there are not enough stewards present, the event could even be canceled. These safety measures are designed to ensure that everyone can enjoy themselves to the fullest without having to worry about their safety. Exclusiv Events declares that…
Tips for a successful evening
There are some practical tips for everyone planning to take part: The use of protective equipment such as knee and elbow pads and a helmet is recommended. Reflective clothing and a flashlight for dark sections of the route could also come in handy. It is particularly important to maintain a minimum distance of 5 meters from the music van and to only move on road sections approved by the police.
Children and young people are only allowed to take part when accompanied by a legal guardian or an adult who must actively participate on skates themselves. This ensures that younger participants are also safe while on the move. If you are physically exhausted, you should stop the run and start the journey home on your own.
In the next few days, the event will certainly be a topic of conversation in many living rooms in Chemnitz. Don't miss the spectacle when the skaters glide across the streets in the evening and create a good atmosphere! Each participant bears their own risk, so be safety-conscious and enjoy the work!
