By October 19, visitors can discover the impressive life's work of the born Sonnebergerin, who inspired generations of children with her innovative toys.
The exhibition focuses on Müller's remarkable career as a designer and artisan. These toys, made from jute, leather and wood, not only have a therapeutic benefit, but also promote creativity, fun and motor skills in children, regardless of their skills.

Renate Müller was born on October 24, 1945 and is a daughter of Hildegard and Emil Lindemann. Your interest in toy design is shaped by your family. Even her grandfather worked in toy production. After studying at the University of Applied Arts in Sonneberg, she started in her parents' toy factory and quickly achieved first successes with her small series of therapeutic toys that were even tested in children's clinics. Her designs were well recognized in the GDR and Müller designed numerous playgrounds in the country until 1990.
The work show in the water lock will include an extensive portfolio of designs, cuts, photos and models and also illustrate the design and development process. The interactive play island will offer young and old the opportunity to experience the exhibits haptically. This is how Müller's artistic creation becomes alive and invites you to explore.

Her designs can now be found in public spaces, kindergartens and even museums worldwide, including in the renowned MoMA in New York.
