Dresden's last skate hall in danger: fundraising campaign started!

There is currently a lot of activity in the skate scene in Dresden. The city's only skate hall, located in Reick, is facing a much-needed modernization. After 25 years, the ramps there were badly worn out and it became a Fundraiser launched to ensure the continued existence of this last weather-independent skate spot. The renovation costs around 170,000 euros, of which 130,000 euros have already been secured through funding. The remaining 40,000 euros are to be collected through donations, sponsorship and personal contributions.

Rick Hoffmann, the board member of Dresden roll e.V. and East German skateboard champion, is currently in the process of collecting the first 20,000 euros for the first construction phase. This initial sum is important to start the basic renovation work. If the donation target is exceeded, plans are in sight for a completely new building, which will include, among other things, a chilled out lounge and an outdoor mini ramp. The club, which was founded in 2001, not only organizes regular courses and contests, but also has the goal of making Dresden a federal base for skateboarding.
