Dresden's last skate hall in danger: Bundeship campaign started!
in Dresden is currently very busy in the skate scene. The city's only skate hall, which is located in Reick, faces an urgently needed modernization. After 25 years the ramps are worn out there and a donation campaign to ensure the continued existence of this last weather-independent skate spots. The renovation costs around 170,000 euros, of which 130,000 euros are already secured by funding. The remaining 40,000 euros are to be collected by donations, sponsorship and own work.
Rick Hoffmann, the club board of Dresden Roll e.V. and East German skateboard champions, is currently compiling the first 20,000 euros for the first construction phase. This initial sum is important to start the basic renovation work. If the donation goal is being overwhelmed, the plans for a complete new building, which includes a chilled lounge and an outdoor miniramp, are in prospect. The association, which was founded in 2001, not only organizes regular courses and contests, but also has the goal of making Dresden a federal base for skateboarding.
