The flames have flared up in Gohrischheide near Dresden and the emergency services are once again confronted with a large forest fire. On Monday afternoon, a difficult-to-access forest caught fire and the fire department had to act quickly. After the latest forest fire operation in Gohrischheide, it became clear that the volunteers' equipment was seriously damaged. From the batteries to the generators in the emergency vehicle and the cameras - many things have been affected by the extreme heat. Particularly critical is the defect in the air conditioning system in the emergency vehicle, which is crucial for cooling sensitive measuring devices. This was emphasized by squadron leader Stefan Riedel, who emphasized that the financial resources are not sufficient for the necessary major repairs. In order to support the drone squadron as quickly as possible, a fundraising campaign was started. Every euro counts in order to continue to help efficiently.
