Dynamo Dresden is off to a hot start to the season preparation – but not completely!
With sweat and ambition, Dynamo Dresden is starting to prepare for the new season in the 2nd Bundesliga. On June 22, 2025, six weeks before the start of the season, a total of 20 players gathered at the sports facility of the eighth division club TSV Cossebaude. This includes 17 field players and three goalkeepers who want to give their best despite the summer temperatures over 30 degrees.
The focus is clearly on new signing Alexander Rossipal, who moved from FC Hansa Rostock to the Saxons. On the other hand, Marlon Faß, who is on loan, is missing due to various absences from other players such as Claudio Kammerknecht, who is not there due to his vacation being extended after international assignments, and Niklas Hauptmann, who is in rehabilitation after a hip operation. Dennis Duah is also on the move, has his contract with Dynamo and is considered a transfer flop after not playing a single competitive game last season. Sports director Thomas Brendel makes it clear that they want to take their time with further commitments in order to specifically strengthen the squad.
The training camp and test matches
Dynamo Dresden has already set the entire summer schedule in preparation for the season. A one-week training camp is planned in Windischgarsten, Austria, from June 29 to July 6, 21. There, the players not only receive physical training, but also gain important match practice in test matches. A duel against Czech champions SK Slavia Prague is scheduled for July 13th, followed by a dress rehearsal on July 25th against SC Freiburg at the Golm sports facility in Schruns, Austria, where the game will take place in two halves of 60 minutes each.
In addition, Dynamo will play against several lower-class clubs in the preparatory period to get the team in shape. Discussions about a possible signing of Andreas Hoti from 1. FC Magdeburg are also ongoing, although with little success - there has been no positive feedback so far.
The season at a glance
The new season begins for Dynamo Dresden with an away game between August 1st and 3rd. The exact schedule will be released on June 27th, further fueling anticipation and excitement among players and fans. Promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga brings a breath of fresh air into the team, and the team is ready to take on the challenge.
With these ideas and goals, Dynamo Dresden is motivated into the summer preparations, ready to prove themselves on the pitch and get the most out of the new season.
