Border controls: fines and detention for Poland and Georgians!

Krauschwitz, Deutschland - on May 29, 2025, federal police patrol at the Krauschwitz border crossing and discovered a 33-year-old Poland who had been fined 1,042.33 euros due to intentional driving without a driver's license and unauthorized drug possession. He paid the outstanding amount directly on site and was therefore able to escape an impending imprisonment.

Just a day later, on the morning of May 30, 2025, a 40-year-old Georgian was arrested at the motorway rest area on the Neiße. The Dresden public prosecutor's office was looking for him due to an enforcement recruitment command after he was sentenced to a fine of 541.41 euros in 2023 for drunkenness in traffic. Since the man was unable to pay the fine, he now has to serve a substitute imprisonment in prison.
