Great fire in Dresden State Operetta: Fire brigade beats flames back!

In the night from June 7, 2025, a devastating fire broke out in the former state operetta in Dresden, which resulted in massive evacuations and extensive rescue measures. When the fire brigade arrived, the flames were already blown up and a dense cloud of smoke moved over adjacent residential areas. Emergency measures were immediately taken: residents had to leave their houses, public transport was discontinued, and the Pirnaer Landstrasse was closed.

Despite the intensive extinguishing attempts, the fire spread out on the roof structure, and the operations line targeted the controlled blasting of the roof structure in order to derive the enormous heat. In the morning at 5:30 a.m., "fire out" could finally be reported, but the auditorium and large parts of the building were completely destroyed. The post -extinguishing work dragged on to the lunchtime and required the use of special technology of the technical relief organization (THW).

The fire brigade Dresden praised the excellent performance of the emergency services, including the volunteer fire brigade, and also thanked the supportive organizations and the population for their understanding and positive feedback on social media.
