Premiere in the theater salon: celebrate art and puppet show at Pentecost!
The Görlitz actor and puppeteer Gerd Kempe has created a special stage with his new theater salon "Henry Salt’s Kammerspiele", which is opened on the Pentecost weekend. The location of the theater is Emmerichstraße 65 in Görlitz, where Kempe has renovated the former trade buildings of a carpentry for ten years. He now uses these buildings for residential and work purposes, whereby the theater salon on the ground floor offers both a small stage and seating for the audience. Kempe, who originally comes from Dresden, worked and plans to open the stage for local artists in his career at various stages and festivals in Germany, Europe and Japan.
During the "Art: Open in Saxony" campaign on the Pentecost weekend, Kempe opens his theater salon for spectators from the age of four with the play "I like you to eat", which has a term of 35 minutes. A total of 135 artists will open their studios and workshops in Saxony. In Upper Lusatia, 20 studios are involved in this cultural event, six of them in Görlitz. The Oberlausitzer Kunstverein as well as artists such as Charlotte von Elm, Jana Neumann, Ildikó Máthéfi and Manja Henkel are also part of the event.

In addition to Kempe, the artists also show their creative work in the so -called Archimedesgarten, where dolls and stage technology are created. In parallel to the “Art: Open” campaign, the “Art Pentecost” of the Stre! Fen-Verein will take place on June 7th and 8th. Ten artists participate in this event, which takes place in the FVKS.ONE gallery. Walks to various artist studios in Görlitz are planned here, with opening times from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. to experience creative work on site.
The participants can take part in an open meeting in the FVKS gallery or a performance in the theater salon.
