Karel was traveling alone that evening and it is unclear what exactly led to his disappearance. The circumstances of his departure raise questions as to whether he may have been the victim of an accident or a crime. What is particularly worrying is that the young person does not speak German, which further complicates the situation. His parents are desperate and hope for information from the public.

The search measures are extensive and take place in a variety of ways: on water, on the ground and in the air. Numerous emergency services are on site, including police officers, an emergency platoon, service dog handlers as well as the criminal and riot police. A mantrailer was used for additional support, and drones from the Bautzen district and Sensocopters from the police administration office are also helping with the search. The cooperation also extends to the Lausitzer and Mitteldeutsche mining management company mbH (LMBV).
Karel V. is around 1.62 meters tall, has a slim build and brown hair. At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a black T-shirt and black shorts.
