Eintracht Niesky mourns Paul Neumann: Farewell with heart and memory
In Niesky, the mourning for Paul Neumann, a valued member of FV Eintracht Niesky and board member, triggered a deep wave of emotions. The accidental loss in a car accident on May 17, 2025 shocked the team and the entire club community. Paul, who created many happy moments in the club's life with his high level of commitment and positive energy, leaves a gap that is painfully noticeable. “We will all miss his smile and his manner,” the club said in an official statement and expressed its deepest condolences to the family, while asking for respect for their privacy during this difficult time.( fv-eintracht-niesky.de )
But FV Eintracht Niesky doesn't give up. Despite a difficult start to the season, coach Enrico Kuntke has seen remarkable progress in the team in recent weeks. The season's objectives were modest, aiming for a mid-table finish, but the team exceeded expectations and ultimately achieved third place. “We initially had several departures and some important players were missing due to vacation or illness,” explains Kuntke. But after a series of narrow defeats, the team found its rhythm and steadily improved.( saechsische.de )
A new path with cohesion
The cohesion in the team is described as particularly strong. The work to integrate young players seems to be bearing fruit, which is not least due to the discussions that were held at the end of October to strengthen team spirit. Players like Julius Dittrich and defense chief Bruno Vogel have developed impressively, with the latter even losing 20 kilograms in weight. “This shows that the hard work pays off,” says Kuntke proudly.
With the rise of the NFV Gelb-Weiß Görlitz, there is now a new regional competitor. Nevertheless, Eintracht Niesky continues to pursue the strategy of promoting players from the region and strengthening the club's identity. “Our motto is ‘My city – my club’ and we live that,” emphasizes Kuntke.
A dignified farewell
In the midst of all the challenges, the club is planning a farewell party for Paul Neumann to pay his last respects and strengthen the community bond. Contributions, music and a donation box for his family will be part of the celebration next Friday. Neumann's tasks have now been distributed among the club members, but much of his vision and enthusiasm remains as a lasting legacy of FV Eintracht Niesky. “His influence on us will never be forgotten and gives us the drive we need for the coming season,” said the coaching team.( saechsische.de )
