A big sporting festival took place last weekend in Görlitz and Zgorzelec: The 20th European Marathon attracted a record number of 2,800 runners from near and far. The routes led across the border and offered the participants not only sporting challenges, but also an insight into the picturesque landscape of the region. Interestingly, there was also prize money for the overall winners in the marathon, who were awarded with vouchers worth 3,000 zloty, while in the half marathon there was prize money of up to 300 euros.
