Cheese alarm in the Spatzennest: Pre -school children experience the miracle of slipping!
In the Kita Spatzennest in Cologne, there is currently a lot of sensation: Nine chicken monks have seen the light of day! The exciting breeding season began when the children of the groups of Fröschel and hedgehog laid a total of twelve eggs in the brood machines, while the other groups, seahorses and ladybug, watched full of curiosity. The tension during the process was tangible - after seven days it was time for the preschool children: they were able to illuminate the eggs for the first time and were fascinated by the movements that took place in it. Smaller children were served for observation information and pictures that served as "video evidence". Patience was asked here - the children learned to leave the breeder alone and not to disturb.
Finally, after three weeks of waiting and hope - chicks hatch exactly 21 days after the eggs were inserted - the big event was there: nine chicks saw the light of day! The children watched the little beings grow for two weeks and are happy about the many new experiences they were able to gain. But the happy time also had its pitfalls: Since the chicken home quickly became too small, the chicks had to be brought back to the farm of Lina Mama. The technique of breaking down
Such a breeding machine that is as exciting as the chicks themselves! The fully automatic breeding machine can absorb up to 10 fertilized chicken eggs. When picking up in Haan Gruites, Saturdays, there is a promising video instruction for the facility. A commercially available environment is everything you need to do your work. Eggs can be flexibly inserted on Saturday, Sunday or Monday. In addition to these practical aspects, the breeding machine takes over the daily turn and keeps the temperature - here the children only have to make sure to keep the water level in mind for the humidity.
The hatch itself is an exciting part of the process: within about 24 hours the chicks come out of the eggs, which can be observed excellently through the machine's plexiglass lid - without any disturbance for the small residents!
a lasting experience for the children
The topic of chick broods not only enjoyed the children, but also taught them in a wonderful way to take responsibility and to take patience. The experience in the Spatzennest day care center is incomparable and will certainly become a permanent memory for the small chick friends. A big thank you goes to all the educators who made this process possible and accompanied, as well as the coordinating EFFORTS of Görlitz and chicken on tour , which made this exciting excursion into the world of chickens!
