Cycling highlight: Around the state crown starts in Görlitz!

Next Sunday, June 29, 2025, Görlitz is turning back into the epicenter of cycling, because the traditional cycling classic "Around the State Crown" is just around the corner. Judging shortly after the start scheme, it could be a day full of cycling feeling! The event is organized by Post sports club Görlitz and offers an exciting circuit course of 17.3 kilometers that runs via the promenades at the "Burghof".

The participants can look forward to a scenic route that leads over Friedersdorfer Straße, Kunnerwitz, Jauenick, Buschbach, Friedersdorf, Pfaffendorf, Schlauroth, Grenzweg and Grundstrasse. So that the safety of the racing enthusiasts is guaranteed, the police will be on site with radio cars, motorcycles and route posts to protect both spectators and drivers.

The racing process in detail

The race day begins early, the first competitions start between 9.30 a.m. and 9.38 a.m. The Masters 3 race will expect up to 86.5 kilometers over five laps and the Masters 4 race, which includes three laps over 51.9 kilometers. The longest race of the day is intended for the Masters 2 category, which begins at 12.15 p.m. and leads over a distance of 121.1 kilometers. Particularly noteworthy is the fat-tire race for children in the age groups 6–7, 8–10 and 11–12 years, which starts at 9.38 a.m. Helmets are mandatory here, while racing bikes are not allowed for the youngest athletes - normal bicycles with tires of at least 30 mm width are required.

Important information for participants

Registration for all cycling enthusiasts is possible up to an hour before the respective start in the racing office at Promenadenstraße 60. The participant fee is 20 euros, higher late registration fees are to be paid of 20 euros. Minors also need a confirmation of participation in their parents. The Görlitz Radrenenn classic belongs to the popular Lausitz Cup series that includes a total of ten competitions.

For everyone who wants to get involved, the Görlitz Post Sports Association is also looking for active helpers for assembly and dismantling as well as in the start-target area.
