Zgorzelec City Festival: Music, history and magic under the stars!
Next weekend, the city of Zgorzelec in Poland will be the scene of a joyful city festival, which is being celebrated as part of the city's 80th anniversary. The festivities take place on July 5th and 6th around the Kulturhaus (Dom Kultury) and in the municipal amphitheater. This event marks the traditional start of the summer holidays and promises a colorful mix of music, dance and historical representations.
Saturday, July 5th, starts at 4 p.m. with performances by local music bands and the talented dancers of the Inna Show cheerleading group. The singing group “Rozśpiewani” under the direction of Ernestyna Adamowicz will also give their best. In the evening, visitors can look forward to a concert by the Belgian singer Danzel, who will set the mood with his hit “Pump it up”. The crowning conclusion of the evening is a discotheque under the starry sky with DJ Slavek and handsomeBunny, which starts at 11 p.m.
Sunday: history and music
Sunday, July 6th, will open at 1 p.m. with a historical reenactment of important events in Zgorzelca history. The focus is particularly on the events of 1945 and the signing of the Görlitz Agreement. At 4 p.m., local jazz and pop music groups such as Freaks The Band and The Twisters continue the festivities in the amphitheater.
The festival ends with a performance by the Polish singer Margaret, who has already made a name for herself in the music scene. In addition to the musical highlights, a flower festival will also take place in the cultural center, presenting floristic compositions and offering other attractive exhibitions.
Additional attractions and historical exhibitions
The festival offers many other attractions. Visitors can look forward to an extensive gastronomic and retail offering that enriches the event. Among other things, there is the opportunity to take part in an anniversary exhibition and even mint a commemorative coin. The Miejskim Domu Kultury will host the international symposium of the Polish Philatelic Association “Zgorzelec ’25”, which is exciting for philatelists and interested parties alike.
Due to the high number of visitors, which has exceeded 100,000 in recent years, it is recommended to resort to public transport to avoid possible parking problems. Anyone who makes their way to the festival area will encounter a diverse market with historical craftsmen and musicians in historical costumes, which create a very special atmosphere.
Loud Saxon The festival is located in the heart of the city and therefore offers not only Zgorzelec, but also the neighboring Görlitzers a unique opportunity to celebrate together. Be there when the town of Zgorzelec hosts a festival for all the senses.
