Kraftklub concert at UT Connewitz: fans wait in vain outside!
On Friday evening, August 10, 2025, the band Kraftklub's concert at UT Connewitz ensured a full house and a lot of enthusiasm among the fans. Despite the short advance notice via Instagram, which took place just two days earlier, hundreds of fans were there to experience the Chemnitz live band. However, not everyone who wanted to come to the club was allowed in. The strict entry guidelines meant that many had to wait outside while the show was in full swing inside. As l-iz.de reports, the police closed the street and late at night the band showed up from the first floor of the club. The planned outdoor performance did not take place, but the fans' enthusiasm was still unbroken.
At the same time, Saxony is preparing for the start of the school year on August 11th, when 534,000 students will return to class. On August 9th, 37,000 new first graders started school. The Ministry of Culture reports a higher number of teachers, but the shortage of teachers remains a pressing issue. The teachers' union GEW warns that teachers are being overloaded and is calling for a fundamental realignment of education policy. With all of these events, one looks not only at the schools, but also at Chemnitz, where the band Kraftklub recently put on a somewhat turbulent concert.
The return of Kraftklub
Kraftklub has already announced the music year 2025 with a surprise concert in Chemnitz. But this spontaneous action had unforeseen consequences: a fine was initiated against the management. The problem? An inadequate security concept and the short notice of the event. According to the regulations, concerts must be registered two weeks to five months in advance, depending on the number of visitors. However, the band's management had reported the concert just one day before. The missing documents could now bring the band a fine of between 5 and 5000 euros, reports saechsische.de.
So while the band has to deal with bureaucratic hurdles, they are also looking to the future. The new album entitled “Die in Karl-Marx-Stadt” is expected for November and is intended to accompany the 2025/2026 concert tour. The first live performance will take place in September at the “SWR 3 New Pop Festival” in Baden-Baden. Next year there are also planned indoor concerts in Germany and neighboring countries, as well as open-air shows in major cities, including Dresden and Hamburg. Tickets for various concerts are already in great demand and fans can look forward to new songs and popular hits, as ticketstart.de reports.
A weekend full of events
The weekend is bursting with events. In addition to the Kraftklub concert, schools are preparing for the start of school, while Chancellor Friedrich Merz has to deal with his controversial decision to stop arms exports to Israel. This has sparked both approval and critical voices within the Union. Merz himself emphasizes that this does not represent a change of direction in German foreign policy.Looking at the weather, a heatwave is expected next week, which will add even more heat to the weekend.
