On Saturday, a 22-year-old was found lying on the tracks at Schönefeld train station. The young man appeared to be sleeping peacefully when the federal police were alerted. A routine check of the sleeping man's personal details ultimately led to a surprise: there was an arrest warrant against him. This was issued because of his failure to appear at a hearing for grievous bodily harm, which was to take place before the Eilenburg District Court. The 22-year-old was then taken to the Leipzig Correctional Facility.

Increased police presence at train stations

As part of this manhunt, a 36-year-old man, who was strongly suspected of bodily harm, and a 42-year-old woman were arrested. Both people were taken to the correctional facility.
