Under the motto “My most beautiful zoo experience”, visitors are invited to capture their most beautiful moments during a visit to the zoo. What could be nicer than capturing the fascinating encounters with the animals in particularly beautiful pictures? The competition, which runs during the summer holidays, rewards the most creative photographers with weekly prizes: family day tickets to Leipzig Zoo.

To enter the competition, participants must take a photo during their visit to the zoo and submit it via an entry form. In addition to the weekly raffles for family tickets, there will also be an exclusive raffle in the last week of the holidays. A very special prize awaits you here: a look behind the scenes with a zookeeper interview of your choice. Animal diversity and species protection at Leipzig Zoo

During the competition, the Discovery Days on the theme of “African Animals” will also take place at Leipzig Zoo. The enthusiasm for photo competitions at the zoo is not new. Such competitions have been held since 2013. The 2021 competition under the motto “The Family Life of Animals” was a hit. Almost 150 photographers took part, who together submitted over 500 photos. The victory went to Stefanie Kalendruschat, who impressed the jury with her picture of the orangutan Miri and her daughter Mayang. Second and third places were also taken by impressive photos that documented the colorful life in the zoo in Rostock Zoo is reported.
