Gröditz crowns season with district cup victory and ascent in Saxony class!

Wülknitz, Deutschland - On June 22, 2025, the football world in Wülknitz was in a party mood, because FV Gröditz has won a truly great double: both the district championship title and the district cup in its pocket. In front of 665 enthusiastic spectators, a gripping finale broke out against SV Hirschstein, which was only decided in the extension.

The start of the game was dramatic, because Hirschstein took the lead in the 23rd minute through a goal by Pascal Kahlert. But the Gröditzer showed their fighting spirit and equalized after a great game campaign in the 69th minute through Tim Zeller. This was the turning point in the game and the signal for the Gröditzer to give everything again.

Coach Lars Richter was overjoyed after the game and described the season as "perfect" with the double win.

After the game, the Hirschstein coach Enrico Michael expressed his displeasure with some controversial referee decisions that shaped the game. However, SV Hirschstein will have to concentrate on the upcoming challenges, since several players have made interrogations. So Tim Zeller leaves the club and changes to SV Prösen, while Luis Kießling breaks loyalty to TuS Weinböhla.

The SV Hirschstein has recently had to master some other challenges. Ten teams from eleven districts took part in the community cup in June 2025.
