Großenhainer Ofenbauer triumphs at the future price of the craft!

A radiant day for the craft: The summer festival of the Dresden Chamber of Crafts took place on Tuesday, and there were several reasons to celebrate. Jörg Dittrich, the President of the Chamber of Crafts, honored three outstanding companies with the coveted future award 2025. More than 400 guests from politics, business, culture and society came together to appreciate the services and innovations of the craft businesses. The competition is under the patronage of Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer, who illustrated the importance of craft for our society.

participating companies had the chance to prove themselves with creative concepts from the areas of junior security, binding skilled workers and sustainability. "Future comes from skills" - this motto, which is also part of the image campaign of the German craft, came to life in the competition. This year, 20 craft businesses took part in the competition, with the Grossenhainer Ofenbauer GmbH took first place. In the interview, Dittrich indicated that craft companies face enormous challenges, especially with regard to the demographic development and the shortage of skilled workers in many areas.

The winners and their innovative concepts

The Grossenhainer Ofenbauer GmbH was awarded for their extraordinary achievements in the field of digital technologies. Founded in 1960 as a production cooperative and since 1990 as a GmbH, the company is headed by Hendrik Schütze and employs a total of nine people, including three trainees. Particularly noteworthy is the use of virtual reality in oven planning, which not only ensures the quality of the products, but also for the efficiency of planning. In addition, the company is active for environmental protection and social projects.

Saxony-Säusen GmbH from Bannewitz secured second place. Under the direction of Florian Wiefel, the son of the founder Karl -Olaf Wiefel, the company employs 31 people and specializes in concrete drilling and saws. The most modern diamond separation technology and 3D printing is used here, which increases competitiveness.

Third place was the Bioconditerei & Bakery Bucheckchen from Dresden, which relies on regional organic ingredients and offers vegan as well as lactose and gluten-free products. The green conversion of the company headquarters is already being planned and shows that sustainability is not only a keyword, but part of the corporate philosophy.

sustainability and digitization in craft

The future award has been awarded since 2012 and highlights the importance of innovative solutions in the craft. The shortage of skilled workers is also a challenge that is the top priority at the craft: over 200,000 jobs are vacant in Germany, and the craft must face the challenges of modern times. Companies that invest in sustainable technologies and digitization are better set up to remain competitive. Thousands of young people are interested in these professional branches every day, especially when it comes to sustainability and digitization.

Digitization offers opportunities in the craft sector to optimize processes, improve material use and reduce environmental pollution. More and more companies are integrating digital solutions to create paperless workflows and reduce CO 2 emissions by using e-mobility. In the future, the ability to operate sustainably and digitally will be crucial for the success of craft companies.

In this sense, craft businesses will continue to be called up in this sense to submit their innovative concepts for the next competition. The application phase 2025 has already started, and the craft remains a key to creative, sustainable solutions for society.
