Father-child weekend 2025: fun, exercise and unforgettable moments!
Shared experiences and deep bonds are the focus of the upcoming father-child weekend, which will take place from June 30th to July 2nd, 2025 at the Cochem-Klotten youth campsite. The organizer, the Family Association of Catholics in the Dresden-Meißen diocese, has put together a varied program that is intended to appeal to fathers and their children aged 6 and over. “We are pleased about the numerous registrations and the great interest,” explains Alexander Stocker, a social worker with experience in youth work, who will accompany the group as a speaker.
The weekend promises not only fun, but also the opportunity to strengthen the father-child relationship. In addition to sporting games and creative handicrafts that focus on “well-rounded results”, there are also experiential educational exercises as well as communication and cooperation games that promote cooperation. Those responsible have designed the program to be flexible in order to adapt it to the participants' respective age group and mood.
Highlights of the weekend
The table tennis tournament on Saturday evening will be a very special highlight. There is also music, snacks and lots of fun. During this tournament, fathers and children will not only put their sporting skills to the test, but also laugh and celebrate together. Another highlight is an adventure on Saturday that still provides excitement.
The program is rounded off with quiet moments in which, for example, people can read aloud or simply relax together. Cooking together, hiking and singing around the campfire are additional highlights that promote community and strengthen family bonds.
Venue and registration
The Cochem-Klotten youth campsite, covering an area of around one hectare, offers enough space for participants, including the necessary equipment such as showers and storage space. Anyone who would like to take part has the opportunity to register via the website Father-Child Weekend. Stepfathers, grandfathers and uncles are also welcome.
The importance of father-child time is often underestimated in today's fast-paced world. But playing, learning and experiencing together creates memories that last a lifetime. There are also numerous other activities to strengthen the connection between father and child that can also be done outside of the weekend, such as cycling, cooking together or experiencing nature. Strongg shows a variety of leisure ideas that can also help strengthen bonds.
Overall, participants can expect a weekend full of joy, exercise and connection that not only strengthens family bonds but also creates lasting memories.
