Construction site in Hartha: full closure until 2026 – this is how you can still get through!
In Hartha, current construction work is causing various traffic disruptions that are impacting the daily lives of residents and road users. Since last Thursday, Dresdener Straße between the entrance to the local supply center and the exit from the town has been completely renovated. Work has already begun and the section is expected to be completely closed for around three months. This was done by Sächsische.de reported.
The construction work included milling the black surface down to the gravel layer, which now paves the way for a comprehensive renovation. The work originally scheduled for last week was delayed because a previously ongoing construction site still needed to be completed. Access to the local supply center remains possible from the city, while the Wreesmann market can only be accessed via Waldheim. However, access is guaranteed for the fire department.
Additional traffic disruptions
The traffic situation is further complicated by a new drinking water pipe that has been being laid by the Döbeln-Oschatz water management since this week. This work will cause the road to be partially closed until August 8th. As an alternative, vehicles can be parked along Sonnenstrasse or in the parking lot of the local supply center.
However, a large chunk of traffic is also directed onto the connecting road between Hartha and Sachsenroda. This will be fully closed from March to October 2025 due to the expansion of the L1362. The work is planned in two phases, with the first phase lasting until June 30th. The L1362 remains passable here, but with possible restrictions. In the second phase, which runs from June 30th to October 31st, there will be a full closure and a diversion route will be in place, as ABG.net reported.
Traffic adjustments and recommendations
The agricultural route from Hartha to Frankenau is intended to transport materials to the construction site. However, a possible complete closure for agricultural traffic is also to be expected here. Residents and farmers are urged to plan alternative routes to avoid inconvenient detours.
The city of Hartha showed a good hand in awarding the renovation work and chose the company Chemnitzer Verkehrsbau, which submitted the most economical offer. The good cooperation with the company in the past gives hope that the construction work will take place quickly and smoothly.
Finally, it should be mentioned that the main tangent is being renovated in several construction phases, ranging from the S36 to the local supply center. Depending on the nature of the subsoil, the final construction phase could drag on until 2026, which is also associated with the risk of additional costs.
