Dramatic victory! Rotation resurrection against Plauen-Oberlosa
Regional handball is always exciting. This was also the case last Saturday, when the upper league handball players from SV Rotation had to compete against the newly promoted team SV Plauen-Oberlosa. The game was anything but easy and developed into a nerve-wracking crime thriller that the rotation team ultimately won. Despite a difficult phase, the team showed that it can deliver the required performance Free press reported.
Coach Daniel Mombreé, in a tongue-in-cheek comment, made it clear that he can't get gray hairs, even if the game was close. The team fought through, and the team achieved the turnaround in a phase in which the game actually seemed to be lost.
Oberlosa shines with a record victory
But while the SV rotation laboriously worked its way through the game, SV 04 Plauen-Oberlosa celebrated an impressive highlight on the same weekend. They won against Rot-Weiß Staßfurt 37:18, the biggest win in the history of the league. Team boss Ladislav Brykner and captain Torsten Wetzel took this opportunity to emphasize the team's immense motivation after a phase full of injuries and the necessary adjustment.
The first 30 minutes were positive for Oberlosa, who were leading 18:9 at halftime. The trend continued in the second half: after ten minutes the score was 23:11. Sebastian Naumann particularly emphasized the team's consistently strong performance, which did not allow for any phases of weakness. It's not every day that we see high-level play!
A strong team and new members
The impressive performance was recognized by the support of the sponsors, as managing director Lutz Petzoldt made clear. The club chairman Dr. Prof. Bernd Märtner also emphasized the cohesion within the team and praised the double staffing in all positions - a real benefit for the club.
A very special event was also imminent: Joana Nowak was ceremoniously welcomed as the 800th member of SV 04 Oberlosa, and district administrator Thomas Hennig even congratulated her on her first goal. Amidst this positive news was also Dr. Prof. Lutz Neumann in action by promoting the Plauen Vocational Academy and its role in top-class sport.
For those who love statistics, it should be mentioned that the top scorers in the game were, among others, Vaicekauskas with two goals, P. Ebert with four goals and Naumann with a total of four goals, including three seven-meter goals. A strong team performance that should not go unnoticed and will hopefully further encourage the local sporting community to show their support.
