Holiday season starts: Exciting tips for a week in Central Saxony!
Summer has finally begun, and with it the holiday season in Central Saxony. The Freiburgers have completed the 35th Bergstadtfest celebrated, which took place from June 23rd to 26th in the picturesque old town. After a two-year break, there were over 140 program items and nine stages that ensured a colorful hustle and bustle. Mayor Sven Krüger opened the celebrations with a performance by the Mittelsächsische Philharmonie and the pop band Soulwalker.
The festival took guests through a variety of attractions: from regional artists to well-known acts such as Marquess and the DJ duo Gamper & Dadoni, there was something for every taste. In the children's and family world, little visitors could have fun with crafts and fairytale theater, while the youth stage offered space for regional newcomers and DJs. A highlight was the mountain parade on Sunday morning with 700 participants, which marched through the old town and created an exuberant atmosphere. The spectacle ended with an impressive fireworks display that was awe-inspiring.

Although the mountain town festival is over, the Freiberg district's event calendar does not stand still.
