Children experience the police and fire brigade up close at the Children's Day!

in Döbeln it was said on Tuesday, June 18, 2025, children on the places! This was ensured by the Children's Day, an event that was launched by Christoph Klix, the neighborhood manager. Around 200 children from the region had the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the local authorities, and in an exciting framework that included the town hall, the fire brigade and the police station. This day was not only informative, but also a big adventure for many small participants.

Class 3a of the Kunzemann School was excited to see the police officer, where the Citizens' Police officers Tina Anker and Maximilian Richter were able to show the young visitors how the police work. The children were allowed to hand in their fingerprints and marveled at the equipment of the police officers, including gun -safe vests and helmets. It was particularly exciting to look into the emergency vehicles, where a laptop and a speed meter were presented in the patrol car. A boy also had the opportunity to try a breath alcohol meter - with the pleasant result of 0.00 per thousand!

Fire brigade experience up close

In addition to visiting the police, the children were also able to get to know the fire brigade. They were not only allowed to try on the operational clothing, but also work with the jet tube. The explanations of the desk official for communication and decisions were an interesting experience for the kids, and the tour of a custody cell provided plenty of conversation under the schoolmates.

The enthusiasm of the children could hardly be overlooked. The positive feedback about the event indicated that the Children's Day was a complete success. There have already been numerous inquiries for a repetition next year. An expansion of the contact points is also planned for the future in order to give small citizens even more insights into the work of the various authorities. In addition to the Kunzemann School, the Mocha elementary school and the daycare center Pfiffikus from Großweitzschen also took part.
