Central Saxony District Youth Fire Department experiences an unforgettable camp!

An unforgettable weekend for the youth fire brigades of Central Saxony: The annual tent camp of the Central Saxony District Fire Brigade Association took place in Wingendorf near Frankenstein from August 16th to 18th, 2025. A total of 410 participants took part, including 325 children from 28 different fire departments. The focus of the three-day event was on a sense of community and the opportunity for the young firefighters to make new friends and strengthen existing friendships.

The camp started on Friday evening with a cozy camp cinema, which entertained the children with a film and offered the perfect setting for their first social encounters. There was great anticipation for the following days, and the atmosphere was characterized by excitement and curiosity. A special highlight was the donation to Roy Schlesinger by Dirk Helbig from Sparkasse Mittelsachsen, who presented a check for 1,500 euros. This support will certainly help to promote future actions by the youth fire departments.

Activities and competitions

Saturday was all about exercise and games. The participants were challenged in an exciting local rally that required team spirit and skill. The result: The first three teams were awarded trophies, which further heated up the competitive atmosphere and made faces smile. After dinner together, the night began with a disco session for the girls and boys, which for many was the crowning conclusion to an eventful day.

The camp is not only an opportunity for activities, but also an important part of the training and teamwork among the young firefighters. It teaches them values such as discipline, responsibility and, above all, community. This makes it all the more important to support local partners, such as Sparkasse Mittelsachsen, which helps strengthen youth initiatives through its fundraising campaigns.

Outlook for the future

The camp once again showed how important such shared experiences are for young people. Joint projects and initiatives not only strengthen the community among the fire departments, but also the trust and solidarity among the young people. With this event, the Central Saxony District Fire Brigade Association shows that the responsibility for the next generation of firefighters is taken seriously and offers a platform to make friends and share experiences.

The anticipation for next year is already palpable, but for some this year's camp will certainly be unforgettable. Everyone is already saying: “Off to the next adventure!”
