Pumpkin fun in the baroque castle: opening of the adventure world on August 30th!

On August 30th, the pumpkin adventure world in Lichtenwalde Castle & Park opens its doors and invites visitors to a colorful spectacle. This year's Pumpkin Festival theme is circus, a theme that runs throughout the event. Great pumpkin sculptures, an extensive tour and an extensive culinary offering promise an unforgettable experience for the whole family. The most impressive attractions are probably the 18 pumpkin sculptures, which stand up to four meters high and were made from around 35,000 pumpkins. Here the ring is made of pumpkins come to life, with clowns, artists and circus animals that invite you to marvel.

As blick.de reports, three world premieres can also be expected at the festival: a seal with a juggling pumpkin, an artist on a cyr wheel and new pumpkin varieties, including the bright yellow mandarin pumpkin and the Halloween pumpkin. A new pumpkin maze is also available to visitors, which offers not only fun but also interesting information about the versatile pumpkins.

Cultural highlights and events

There is a varied cultural program on the weekends. Highlights include the pumpkin weighing championship on September 7th and the carving festival on October 4th and 5th, where international artists show off their skills. On the two weekends, October 18th and 19th, the ring will once again be the scene of breathtaking circus acts. For Halloween, the festival offers a range of events from October 20th to November 2nd, including pumpkin carving, crafts and lantern parades. The culinary delights are not neglected either: from pumpkin rosti to pumpkin ice cream to freshly roasted pumpkin seeds, everything is included.

Of course, the impressive scenery of the castle must also be mentioned. The ten-hectare park landscape not only offers water features, but also a breathtaking view of the Zschopautal. The castle itself is particularly worth a visit, as there is a treasury and the STERNTALER exhibition waiting for guests.

Reisereporter presents a selection of the best pumpkin farms that celebrate the diversity of vegetables.
