Mittelsachsen, Deutschland - The district of Central Saxony today, on June 24, 2025, launched a broad youth survey that aims to improve leisure and support offers for young people. This initiative is aimed at children and adolescents between the ages of 10 and 20 and offers the opportunity to actively shape the future of offers in your region. District Administrator Sven Krüger emphasizes that it is essential to take into account the needs and interests of young people in order to plan suitable offers. The survey is now available online on the website of the district office and can be filled out by August 30th. Participation is anonymous and takes about 15 minutes.
Not only the young people are in focus! By June 30th, a survey for people aged 55 and over is running in parallel. This survey is part of the development of a senior citizen -political strategy that wants to gain a comprehensive picture of the life Situation of older people. In the past, the city administration of Erfurt carried out in 2014, 2017 and 2022 lifestyle surveys of children and adolescents. Over 2,000 young people between the ages of 12 and 17 were selected by random sample to determine their interests and needs. These surveys, which deal with topics such as leisure interests, living environment and school situation, show the lively interest of the young people in participating. The return rate was 34.6 percent in 2022 and even 41.9 percent in 2017. This data flow directly into the city of Erfurt's children's and youth development plan and show how important it is to hear the voice of the youth.
