On July 4, 2025, an incident in Döbeln caused a stir. On a Thursday afternoon, an 88-year-old woman was knocked over by an unknown woman in the Zwingerstraße/Straße des Friedens area. Witnesses report that after the incident, the perpetrator directed insulting words at the senior citizen before running away. The injured woman was immediately helped by several passers-by from a car parked nearby and was later taken to hospital, where she was treated for serious injuries. The police are investigating and ask all witnesses and helpers to contact the Döbeln station on 03431 6590 in order to advance the investigation. This is reported by the Sächsische.de.

But that wasn't the only incident this week. At another location, namely on the B169 near Greifendorf, a traffic accident occurred on Thursday morning, June 26, 2025, in which two people were injured. A Subaru driver wanted to turn left towards a property entrance when a Mercedes behind was unable to brake in time and hit the vehicle. Both people involved were taken to hospital for further examination. The Greifendorf fire department not only secured the scene of the accident, but the towing service also had to come in to rescue the vehicles and pick up leaked operating resources. During the rescue work there were traffic delays on the B169. The police have started investigating the cause of the accident Blick.de reported.
