But don't worry, it is a temporary closure due to conversion measures. The planned reopening is already scheduled for August 6, so that customers do not have to do without their usual purchase for long. According to the Torgauer Zeitung remains NFRESH GmbH as an operator, even if there were rumors about a change of operator that turned out to be unfounded. From the reopening, the market will also be led under the name "Nah & Gut".
What else applies? The approximately nine employees of the branch can continue to work at the Torgau location. During the renovation phase, the Taube bakery and the butcher's shop remain in operation. However, there is a small changeover for the post office: During the closure, it will be divided into other locations, but from August 6th it can be reached again as usual.
New local supply center in planning
However, the project is discussed controversially. Investors and trading companies emphasize the strengthening of local supply and the creation of new jobs. In contrast, retailers and citizens express concerns about the future of the city center and fear possible repression effects. A petition against the project has already mobilized around 1,300 supporters. In order to bundle all arguments, the city administration plans a workshop to prepare the decision.
