Lützow Castle: From the trillion hope to expensive luxury apartments!

in Heidenau, a small town in Saxony, there is only one striking building: Lützow Castle in Großsedlitz. Once offered for a trillion euros on the Internet, today it is all about renovation and redesign. The interest in the magnificent building, which was built in the style of the neo -Renaissance, is unbroken, and the plans for further development are promising.

In 2013, the offer of an astronomical sum of a trillion euro shocked the public, which was not meant seriously. The actual price, to which the castle was finally sold, amounted to an above -average two million euros. The castle is currently owned by Ventar GmbH, which also lovingly renovated other monuments in the region, such as the Heidenauer Nord-Bahnhof.

planned renovation measures

Approximately working on a project -related development plan is currently being carried out to advance the renovation plans rejected by the city. These first drafts that rehearsed apartment buildings were not approved for various reasons. Now the vision of an ensemble is celebrated with outstanding architecture, which is supposed to include ten high -quality apartments in the castle. These new apartments are expected to be among the most expensive in the region.

The plans also include that new buildings are subordinate to the historical substance of the castle and that a maximum of two to three floors should be high. A parking deck is integrated into the slope while unused buildings are to be torn down. Sedlitzer Straße is used for the development, and large areas around the castle should be preserved as a park to enrich the park landscape.

The history of the castle

The Lützow Castle was built in 1890 by large landowner Lützow. Since the death of Lützow in 1940, the castle stayed in the hands of his family, which moved to Hamburg. Later it changed several times - among other things, a children's cure was housed in it from 1957 to 1990. The Christian youth village acquired the area in 1991, and since 2015 the Heidenauer Variant Bauprojektukt GmbH has been owner.

The building was not only a habitat over the years, but also a training site. Until 1991 it served as the company vocational school in the Deutsche Reichsbahn. However, the last years of use were shaped by vacancy until Ventar GmbH finally recognized the great potential of the property.

commitment to monument protection

The renovation plans benefit from the efforts of the German Foundation for Monument Protection, which support up to 600 projects in Germany every year. Every year, around 20 million euros flow into the preservation of historical buildings. This speaks not only for the high value that the monument protection enjoys, but also for the commitment that is invested in projects such as Lützow Castle. Over 7,500 monuments have been supported so far, so that the Lützow Castle is in good company.

In summary, it can be said that Lützow Castle is not only a magnificent contemporary witness, but is also invested in the future. The combination of historical appreciation and modern living concepts shows that a good knack for the renovation and nine use of history is proven here. The preparations for this have started and the city of Heidenau is excited to see what the time -honored building still has to offer.
