BUND is investing 3 million euros in cultural projects in Saxony!

In a pleasant message for the cultural scene in Saxony, the federal government has funded two significant cultural projects with 1.5 million euros each. These projects are located in the Vogtlandkreis and in the Zweckverband Kulturraum Oberlausitz-Lower Silesia and are part of the federal program "Aller.Land-together. Strengthen structures", which aims at sustainable development of rural areas. The implementation of the projects is set up to and including 2030, which underlines a long -term approach in cultural funding. Minister of Culture Barbara Klepsch (CDU) also emphasizes the importance of developing visionary perspectives and promoting cultural exchange.

On June 18, 2025, a total of 30 regional cultural projects of the program of the program were announced in Berlin, among which the two Saxon projects are located. The selection of the carrier regions was made by a federal jury under the direction of cultural manager Hortensia Völckers, with seven regions from Saxony originally applied for funding. A remarkable step, because in the first funding phase the funding was a maximum of 40,000 euros per region.

Details on the funded projects

The project from the Oberlausitz-Lower Silesia cultural area is wearing the working title "Let's Talk!". This project aims to strengthen the exchange and cooperation in the region. In the Vogtlandkreis, on the other hand, a project is implemented under the title "Future-Kultur-Region Göltzschtal" that is intended to mobilize creative potential on site. Both initiatives offer the opportunity to make the cultural landscape of the respective regions sustainable and to develop exciting programs.

a strong program for rural areas

The federal system for cultural funding looks outside the box. The aim of the “Aller.Land” program is to strengthen cultural participation and democracy in structural -weak, rural regions. The Federal Minister of Agriculture Cem Özdemir emphasizes the central role of these areas for social development. The federal government provides a total of 69.4 million euros to support "Aller.Land" by 2030, which optimally reflects the value of cultural identity in rural areas.

This program includes two phases: a one -year development phase and the subsequent five -year implementation phase. During this time, innovative ideas that arise from the needs on site are to be implemented. A variety of formats, from cultural dialogues to creative residential projects (villages), is supported to actively involve the citizens in the design process.

With the KO-Financing of 5.9 million euros from 2025, it can be seen that the funded regions are willing to take responsibility themselves and thus create a broad basis for future projects. Such initiatives are essential to further develop rural areas and to open up new perspectives. The response to the selected projects promises creative cooperation and strengthening cultural life in Saxony.
