It's already really Christmassy in Saxony-Anhalt! Preparations for the 2025 Christmas markets are in full swing and the anticipation of the festively decorated old towns, delicious regional specialties and artistic crafts is growing every day. Various markets open in mid-November, while others only open their doors to visitors in Advent. A treat to look forward to! MDR reports that the variety of Christmas markets attracts people to the cities.
The Christmas markets in the Halle region are particularly worth mentioning. Here visitors can mark the following dates in their calendar:
- Halle: 25. November bis 23. Dezember 2025, Marktplatz und Vorplatz der Konzerthalle Ulrichskirche.
- Querfurt: 19. Dezember bis 21. Dezember 2025, an der Burg und in der Altstadt.
- Naumburg: 24. November bis 21. Dezember 2025, täglich von 10:00 bis 19:00 Uhr (Fr/Sa bis 21:00 Uhr) auf dem Marktplatz.
- Weißenfels: 27. November bis 21. Dezember 2025, ebenfalls auf dem Marktplatz.
- Zeitz: 5. Dezember bis 14. Dezember 2025, täglich von 15:00 bis 20:00 Uhr am Altmarkt.
And these are just some of the attractions! In the Dessau-Wittenberg region, there is also a lot of work being done to present the improvements. Here is the most important information about the markets:
- Wittenberg: 24. November bis 29. Dezember 2025, am Marktplatz.
- Dessau-Roßlau: 24. November bis 23. Dezember 2025, mit Öffnungszeiten, die von Montag bis Sonntag variieren.
