83-year-old from Lichtenstein missing – police are urgently looking for clues!

The search for a missing 83-year-old woman from Lichtenstein is currently preoccupying the authorities and worried relatives. Margitta G. has been missing since Sunday afternoon after she left her care facility on Innere Zwickauer Straße. Their whereabouts have remained unknown since then. This was reported by Radio Zwickau.

The police describe Margitta G. as strong, with a pale complexion and short, gray hair. It measures between 1.50 and 1.60 meters. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing blue sweatpants and black loafers and was probably wearing a horizontally striped sweater. Her habit of repeatedly calling out “Heidi deidi” while walking attracts particular attention. Residents and passers-by are asked to report information about their whereabouts by calling the Glauchau police station on 03763 640 or any other police station.

Investigations intensified

As part of the investigation, the local police station has already initiated search measures. According to the guidelines of the [Federal Criminal Police Office](https://www.bka.de/DE/ UnserAufgabe/Ermittlungsunterstuetzung/BearbeitungVermisstenfaelle/arbeitVermisstenfaelle.html), a person is considered missing if they are unexplainably absent and a danger to life or limb is assumed. If there is acute danger, large-scale search operations can be carried out, often involving riot police and emergency services.

There are currently around 9,420 missing person cases registered in Germany. Around 200 to 300 new searches are added every day. The clearance rate is relatively high; About half of all missing people are found within the first week. In the current investigation, the authorities hope to quickly find and locate Margitta G. before further danger arises.
