The Glauchau Castle will soon shine in new splendor - roof renovation has started!
What's happening in Glauchau? A colorful mix of renovation, cultural highlights and a pinch of nostalgia. In the well-known mini world, the impressive Glauchau castle complex is currently being given a new roof. “After 25 years, it’s finally time for repairs,” explains experienced roofer Lutz Gozdzik, who, at 62 years as a professional, knows that weather and time take their toll. The original building material made of fibers and plastic is affected by numerous weather conditions, so there is a need for action. “This is normal after such a long time,” adds the expert, who has now been working in the mini world for four years after health reasons prevented him from working on large construction sites.
Special mini roof tiles made from Baltic Sea sand, paint and plastic are used for the renovation. With his many years of experience, Gozdzik brings special expertise to this location, which is considered one of the largest models in the miniature park. Here, not only the castle shines in new splendor, but also the entire complex.
Cultural highlights in the mini world
The mini world has much more to offer than just small buildings. The “Mini World at Night” event will take place next Saturday evening, a real highlight for all visitors. With torchlight and spectacular spotlights, over 100 world-famous and regional models come to life - a colorful play of lights that shouldn't be missed.
A very special treat is the planetarium dome, which is used for stargazing. There, the mini-world astronomer offers insights into the celestial stars and allows visitors to enjoy the beauty of the night sky. The eagerly awaited Pink Floyd show begins at 6 p.m., immersing visitors in another world. The music continues from 7 p.m. with the band Whysker, who provide live music and make the evening swing with their sounds.
Another highlight of the evening will be the lantern parade at dusk, followed by an impressive laser show around 10:30 p.m., which will certainly make not only children's eyes light up.
This makes Saturday evening in the Mini World an experience for the whole family that you shouldn't miss. The Glauchau Castle not only gets a new roof, but also becomes the stage for numerous cultural events that make Glauchau come alive. So if you're looking for an entertaining evening, you definitely shouldn't miss this event!
