Summer is here, and with it the audience in Zwickau is enjoying the 19th edition of the popular “Summer Swing” event. On Friday evening, June 27, 2025, the starting signal was given for this musical festival, which is already captivating many lovers of jazz, blues and swing. How Radio Zwickau reports, the event will take place in front of the Gewandhaus monument and will attract the first guests on Friday at 6:30 p.m. with the first performance by the “Jazz Company” from Chemnitz.
The musical flair will be felt over two evenings: On Saturday evening, the big band “Swing It” from the Robert Schumann Conservatory will provide the festive conclusion. Along the stands, visitors also have the opportunity to taste delicious wines and tarte flambées. Admission remains free for all guests, which makes the event even more accessible.
An exciting program in the open air
“Summer Swing” has been delighting the people of Zwickau for 16 years now. The event had to be paused in 2022 due to the pandemic situation, but now it is back with full force. The atmosphere is described as early summer, and the region is looking forward to another festival after the long dry spell of recent years. The event is organized by the organizers, the Robert Schumann Conservatory Zwickau and Kultour Z. They have put together a great program that also includes contributions from the Gewandhaus and the Conservatory.
