Vintage motorhome show in Rendsburg: 45 hobby 600 in convoy!

In Rendsburg, 45 owners of hobby 600 motorhomes met for a special event by Sunday. The event, which celebrates the cooperation and love for these special vehicles, offers the participants the opportunity to exchange ideas and share the memories of many trips. Among those present was the couple Uwe and Christine Dannhauer from Oldenburg, who looks proud of their classic from 1985. Her hobby 600, which was approved on April 29, 1985, has been family -owned for 40 years and is considered one of the oldest still intact models.

The motorhome hit from Fockbek has been produced between 1985 and 2006 and is still very popular today, especially because of its charming retro design and technical robustness. The vehicle used by the Dannhauers, in its original condition with cassette radio and analog advertisements, is a perfect example of the quality and durability of this series. The interior is practical and comprises two seating areas, a cooking line and a washing cell with a toilet. Banned on the details, the owners also report on the adjustments that were made, such as the enlargement of the tank to 140 liters, which enables an impressive range of over 1000 kilometers at speeds of 75 to 85 km/h

The community of hobby 600 owners

The event is organized by Wilfried Leske from Recklinghausen, who is not only a passionate hobby 600 driver, but also covered over 430,000 kilometers with its 35-year-old model. Leske takes care of the annual meetings of the hobby 600 community, although it is a challenge to find spare parts for the older models. These are often rare and expensive, like a door hinge that costs 300 euros. The meetings are an important opportunity for the members not only to present their vehicles, but also to exchange knowledge about care and repair.

On Friday, the 45 motorhomes drove to Fockbek in an impressive convoy to take part in a factory tour of hobby. This event combines the history of the brand with the present and strengthens the community among the owners. The variety of available models that are approved between 1990 and 2025 shows the resistance and variety of hobby motorhomes. According to the previous surveys, a total of 59 different models are available in the hobby range, which are characterized by different functions and price classes.

a nostalgic journey

The fascination of the hobby 600 motorhomes is not only in their aesthetics, but also in the stories they tell. The combination of mechanical robustness and nostalgic details makes you a popular vehicle among motorhome enthusiasts. Participation in these meetings enables owners to share their experiences and celebrate the connection to the brand. The vehicles preserved in the original condition, such as that of the Dannhauers, prevent alienation from the roots that makes traveling with a motorhome so special.

For the coming years, the nostalgia factor will remain with the hobby 600 motorhomes, while at the same time the challenges of acquiring spare parts and the concern for receiving these treasures are in the room. But the sense of community and the joy of travel will continue to ensure that these motorhomes remain alive. In this sense, many owners look optimistically into the future.
