Samsung starts free Smtown channel-K-Pop for millions!
Dignity Health Sports Park, Los Angeles, USA - Samsung Electronics has announced an important partnership with SM Entertainment that could revolutionize the K-Pop landscape. On May 11, 2025, the Smtown Live 2025 concert took place in the Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles, which was transferred exclusively to Samsung TV Plus. This event celebrated the 30th anniversary of SM Entertainment and offered an impressive platform for artists such as TVXQ, Super Junior, Shinee, Exo, Red Velvet, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, AESPA, Riize, NCT Wish, Hearts2Hearts and SMTR25.
The concert was streamed live in 18 countries worldwide, which makes Samsung TV Plus a global platform for K-pop content. Samsung News reports that the opening of a new SMTown channel on the streaming service pursued to make Korean content accessible to a wider audience. Samsung TV Plus already has over 4,000 hours of free content, which includes Korean dramas, thrillers, romances and music programs.
