high accident risks for motorcyclists

The tragedies on our streets are not unknown in the motorcyclist community. According to the ADAC accident analysis, it turns out that motorcyclists have a significantly higher risk of accident than drivers. A total of around 4.7 million motorcycles are approved in Germany. Almost 15 percent of them are in the possession of women. Motor bikers have a four -time risk of being involved in an accident, and the disposable rate is seven times higher than with cars.

The statistics are alarming: there are more than 500 deadly and almost 10,000 seriously injured motorcyclists every year. The age group of 15- to 24-year-olds in particular has the highest risk of accidents. In the case of single accidents, driving errors and excessive speed are the most common causes, while collisions often arise from overtaking errors and unadjusted speed. Over 50 percent of the collisions are turning and intersection accidents, with 80 percent of these accidents concern cars, such as reported.

measures to avoid accident

In order to increase the safety of motorcyclists, the ADAC recommends various measures. This includes wearing protective clothing, regular safety checks of the machines and participation in driving safety training. Infrastructural improvements, such as the adaptation of road conditions and the cutting back of plantings, can also contribute to avoiding accident.

The accident in Bad Schönborn is a tragic example of the dangers that both motorcyclists and drivers have to deal with in road traffic. It is to be hoped that the number of traffic accidents and their serious consequences can be reduced in the future.
