Stödtlen celebrates inauguration of the modern sewage treatment plant in Gaxhardt!
Gaxhardt, Deutschland - On May 26, 2025, the new collective claim in Gaxhardt, municipality of Stödtlen, was inaugurated. After almost ten years of planning, the sewage treatment plant can now make a significant contribution to wastewater disposal. The conversion of the previous sewage treatment plant into a pumping station was celebrated with an official band average, which also praised the long -term work of the engineering office B&P and various construction companies. Clarge lawyer Josef Lutz and the former mayor Ralf Leinberger was particularly honored.
The construction of the collection sewage system began in 2022 and required extensive investments totaling 3 million euros. For the pumping station and the associated external stations as well as the pressure line and the remote system, the costs amount to 2.6 million euros. The municipality receives a total funding of 3.9 million euros, but has to apply over one million euros from its own resources. These investments are part of a larger project to improve wastewater disposal in the region, which is supported by the state of Baden-Württemberg with 2.2 million euros to optimize the water quality of the Berlisbach and the Rotach
extension and modernization
The sewage treatment plant in Gaxhardt will now be able to clean the waste water from Stödtlen and Niederroden. The new facilities include a mechanical pre -cleaning, a clarification basin, a phosphate fitting and additional buildings, including an extended inventory basin and a long -distance control center for monitoring. A decisive goal of these measures is to expand the sewage treatment plant from 650 to 1850 inhabitants.
The modernization of the infrastructure follows a sewage concept from 2008, which tested different variants. The decision was made on the decommissioning of the Stödtlen sewage treatment plant and the transfer of the waste water to the Gaxhardt sewage treatment plant. As part of the project, an approximately three -kilometer pressure line must also be built. The total costs of the measures are estimated at around 5 million euros, the country covering 80 percent of the costs in the first construction phase.
water quality and water protection
The importance of municipal wastewater disposal for water protection cannot be emphasized enough. According to the Environmental Authority , investments in sewage treatment plants are decisive in order to achieve the good condition of the waters. Despite the progress of the past 40 years, material problems in waters continue to have a challenge. Micro pollutants represent a serious risk and must be reduced by innovative wastewater treatment processes. The EU is already planning to make the introduction of a fourth cleaning level in large sewage treatment plants until 2035, which underlines the urgency of these modernizations.
The sewage treatment plant in Gaxhardt, which has been in operation since 1991, should not only increase the quality of wastewater, but also significantly reduce the stress for the surrounding waters in the medium term and better meet the required environmental standards.
