Big summer festival in the community center: games, fun and a good mood for everyone!

It's almost that time again! On Friday, July 4, 2025, the now popular summer festival of AG Nord and the city's senior citizens' meeting will take place in the community center at Otto-Dix-Straße 44. From 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., visitors can expect a colorful program for young and old, which is intended to appeal to both locals and families. Over the years, this event has become a highlight in the social calendar of the Altenburg district. As abg-net.de reports, creative activities are offered by various children's and youth institutions as well as social clubs.

The festival offers a wealth of activities to participate in, including a bouncy castle from the Altenburg Family Center, which the little ones will have a lot of fun with. There are also comfortable seats for parents to take a breather while the children have fun. A special attraction is the flea market, which takes place on the lawn in front of the community center. Here children can exchange or sell toys, books and games, according to the motto: “No matter whether it’s a blanket or a folding table – bring what you no longer need!”

Entertainment for all generations

The musical entertainment will be provided by DJs Peth and Roman Wilkens. The comedy number from “The Caretaker” ensures laughter, and the drum rhythms of the group Como Vento bring momentum to the event. The highlights for the children also include tractor rides with Udo Friedrich as well as leading and petting alpacas, which will be on site.

Of course, physical well-being is not left behind at the summer festival. Guests can look forward to bratwursts, barley juice, soda, coffee and cake. For lovers of sweet treats, an Italian ice cream stand from Giacomo's Eis-Mobil will offer the hottest summer trends.

A celebration of community

But not all celebrations can be realized. This year, the traditional summer festival in the neighboring district of Altenburg-Nord was canceled because only four partners were willing to help.
